14-15 Mar 2024: Welsh Hospitals Dental Specialty Meeting

BDA Welsh Hospital's Group in association with HEIW is delighted to invite you to join us for the 2024 Welsh Hospital Dental Specialties Meeting to be held at The Vale Hotel.

The event will follow the usual format over two days with Specialty Group scientific meetings on Thursday and the annual gala dinner in the evening. Prizes for the best presentations will be awarded during the dinner.

NURSE PROGRAM

A separate nurse program will run alongside the meeting on Friday 5th May. This will deliver 5 hours of relevant and certified CPD for nurses and dental care professionals and includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Please encourage nurses in your hospital to attend.

TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

Although there was not sufficient interest in running a separate technician program this year, our technologist colleagues are welcome to join us for the main keynote program.

GALA DINNER AND ACCOMMODATION

The popular Gala dinner will be on Thursday evening with a live band and drinks reception - We warmly encourage you to attend this fantastic social event. We have negotiated genuinely competitive 'all-inclusive' ticket options with the Vale Hotel. These include accommodation on a sole or shared basis (which offers even greater value for money). These tickets sold out last year so please book early to avoid missing out.

POSTERS AND PRESENTATIONS

Please note this year the closing date for abstracts is 31 Jan 2024. Electronic abstract submission is via this website only. No other method of abstract submission is acceptable. No abstracts can be accepted after the deadline.

Please pay particular attention to the rules for abstract submission, in particular please note that only one presenter is permitted per succesfull abstract and the presenter must be registered to attend the confernce.

KEYNOTES

The theme for this year is "Everyday Digital" which will focus on the routine use of digital workflows within dental and surgical practice. We have secured a selection of inspiring keynote speakers who will deliver their keynotes on Friday. We also hope to run a hands on masterclass on the Thursday morning.

PROGRAM AND ABSTRACT BOOK

A draft program will be available below and will be finalised here in the next few weeks. 

All abstracts for accepted papers and posters will be published along with the final program in glossy booklet to be issued at the meeting. A PDF format will be available online.

No refunds can be offered unless the organiser cancels the event in which case a full refund will be given. Please ensure that you have secured approved leave before you pay for this event.  In the event that the event is cancelled due to COVID, the organiser will look to reschedule and tickets will remain valid for the new event.
